Dear readers...

What is a monster?
Do alcoholics make the best philosophers?
Which is inspires greater art, suffering or bliss?

Since I'm too lazy to write a post of my own, perhaps you'd care to answer some questions for me?

A monster is created by democratic vote amongst small groups.

Philosophers make the best alcoholics. They're such an inspiration at AA meetings.

Greater art is inspired not from suffering or bliss alone but from the transition of one to the other.

The first one is difficult to answer. A monster can't really be pinpointed to one trait, as different personality traits, different actions, make one monstrous or otherwise. Just as there are different kinds of fears, there's different things that tap into those fears and distastes and hate.

Do they? I'm not sure. Maybe. All the great writers seem to be alcoholics. Of course, my personal experience with alcohol tends to lean more towards drunken rambling that is either offensive or doesn't make any sense. I suppose it depends on the person.

It's not suffering or bliss, but the passions that those feelings bring that creates great art.

Over and out. -salute-

a monster is something not completely known or seen, and people can fear what they do not know. not all of them do.

i'm neither an alcoholic nor a philosopher, but i like tommu's answer.

both. true artists create from the very bottoms of their hearts, and only the emotions strong enough to reach there will find their way out.
i've seen a lot of amazing stuff created just because it was due the next day, but the difference is that the artist won't care so much about the work.
